Refurbishing
Repurposing used furniture
Suppose an office chair, technically and structurally still completely sound but the fabric is hideous, outdated and/or worn out. Or take, for example, a desk whose top has started to sag or is full of scratches but the frame is still in perfect condition. In most cases, this furniture still ends up integral on the scrap heap.
But not at 2ECO, we definitely still see potential in these goods! By refurbishing these products and giving them a complete technical overhaul, we make them ready for a 2nd or 3rd life. A refurbished product is actually as good as new, but without the heavy ecological footprint of new production and it's cheaper too!
Why refurbish or buy refurbished?
Refurbishing is a very nice solution after a clear consideration of whether the process of refurbishing is not more harmful or polluting than properly recycling that same good. We at 2ECO focus on light refurbishing of the purchased office furniture in order to then sell/recycle the furniture and give it a 2nd or 3rd life
Deep cleaning of office chairs with spray extraction method
Re-upholstering of office chairs (can even be done by color to match your corporate image)
Installation of new tabletops on used desk and table frames
Always with technical review to start a sustainable 2nd and 3rd life.
Overhaul to as good as new
Refurbishing literally means to refurbish. In fact, it is an English term, but we see the term coming back more and more in the Dutch language as well. We notice that the interest in refurbished office furniture has grown enormously. Also in the business world the demand for refurbished instead of new products is increasing.
So refurbishing stands for overhaul. This means returning the product to a good condition. This includes restoring functionality, refreshing aesthetics and making improvements in ergonomics and technology. The resulting furniture is then actually like new.
Conservation of basic raw materials, small ecological footprint
Sustainable AND cost-effective

Social and Circular Economy
To refurbish their furniture, 2ECO partners with a custom company that works with people with a recognized distance from the labor market. This company has the knowledge, machinery and people to do this job to perfection.
This also immediately links the social economy to the circular economy. So if you buy a refurbished piece of furniture, you not only support the evolution towards a more ecological but also a more socially responsible society and you are still cheaper than buying something new!
2ECO thus strives for social sustainability in business in addition to full ecological circularity.
